The short version

Your Local profile is public and reachable by anyone with the link. You control whether it also appears in institution directory search. We never sell your data.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details: name, username, email, password (stored encrypted), province, and city.
  • Profile content you choose to add: photos, bio, education, projects, dreams, and social links.
  • Institution details: organization name, type, and contact email, for institution accounts.
  • Usage information: profile views and social link clicks, used only in aggregate for your own profile analytics.

2. Your profile is public

Every Local profile is public by default and can be viewed by anyone who has your profile link, that is how the platform works as a shareable portfolio. Suspended accounts' profiles are taken offline.

3. You control directory visibility

Separately from your profile's public link, you can choose whether your profile appears in the browse page and the institution talent directory search. Turning this off does not hide your profile from anyone who already has the link, it only removes you from search and browsing.

4. How we use your information

  • To operate your public profile and, if enabled, list you in the directory.
  • To power messaging between you and other users you choose to talk to.
  • To generate link previews when your profile is shared, for example on WhatsApp.
  • To keep the platform safe: reviewing reports, verifying institutions, and preventing abuse.
  • To send you account and product emails, such as newsletters you've subscribed to, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.

5. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties, ever. Institutions pay (in future) to access platform features, never to buy user data.

6. Who can see what

  • Anyone with your profile link can see the sections of your profile you've filled in.
  • Verified institutions can additionally find and message you through the directory, unless you've turned off directory visibility.
  • Admins can view account and moderation data to keep the platform safe, and never share it outside the platform.

7. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your public profile; some records may be retained briefly where required for moderation or legal purposes.

8. Cookies

We use only the essential cookies needed to keep you logged in and to protect the platform from abuse. We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will make a reasonable effort to let you know before they take effect.
